Sprinkler Fun

The other day, I had some cleaning out of our garage to do.  We were washing a few things off and decided to break out the swimsuits with the sprinkler.  With our pool, we rarely let the kids run through the sprinkler because it seems like such a waste of water.  I think I had forgotten how much fun it can be!  I grabbed the camera to capture some pictures and I'm really glad I did!

Even Kamryn got in on the fun!  It doesn't hurt that she loves to be squirted.. and her brothers are more than happy to make her happy!

 

T-Ball End of Season Party

Even though Carsen's team, The Lookouts, made it to the play-offs and the season is hopefully far from over, they celebrated their undefeated season with a pool party.

Gaven has been quite the little swimmer since he was 2 1/2, but Jason had to work this day, and with all 4 kiddos to myself, I just didn't trust his swimming abilities enough to let him be at the pool without his floaties.  He wasn't happy... but I figure, better alive than happy!

Kammy didn't really want any pizza, so the only other thing she could have was Cheetos... she didn't mind!

Carsen's coach got them these little bats with their team name, their name and number on them.  He gave it to them at the end of the party and Carsen DID NOT set his down the entire day after that.  He was holding it while watching TV, and I didn't check, but I wouldn't be surprised if he slept with it, too!

So proud of The Lookouts... looking forward to a hopefully successful post season!

Radiology Hail and Farewell 2012

The Radiology department holds a Hail and Farewell each year in June to say goodbye to the Seniors (5th Years) and welcome the new interns.  It's their version of graduation.  We love that it is so casual and family friendly.  Jason took Kamryn and Gaven while I took Braeden and Carsen to Carsen's game.  We met them there after.  It was nice not to feel like we had to change and get all dressed up.  The kids love it because there is a very large "dance floor" that they have all to themselves. 

There are definitely a lot of boys between the kids of the Radiology staff and Residents.  They all got together and decided they would do some racing.

 

Kamryn enjoyed herself, too, even though she was constantly in danger of getting trampled!

One of the things that I have absolutely LOVED about our Radiology department is the friendships that I have made with the other wives.  I've been so lucky that we have had such a GREAT group of girls that love to get together, are so supportive of one another and are great examples to me!  I sure will miss those that have graduated and moved on!

First Tooth - FINALLY!

Carsen's friends have all been losing their teeth.  Actually, we have many friends that have kids YOUNGER than Carsen that have lost 3-4 teeth.  He's had a loose one for a while now, and when I looked at it the other day, I could see that the permanent one was coming in behind the baby one.  Not just a little bit, but it was halfway in!  I think he was just too chicken to pull it.  Finally, he was eating a PB&J sandwich and when he bit into it, the tooth just popped right out!  He was VERY excited!

The tooth that was growing in behind has worked it's way forward into the position that it should be now that the baby tooth is gone!

End of the School Year Awards

I'm going back to the end of the school year since I haven't been able to post pictures since back then. During the last week of school, they invite the parents to come and see their children receive their end of the year awards. Gaven, Kamryn and I went first to Braeden's 3rd Grade Awards.

 

I'm always very proud of the kids and the hard work that they put in each school year.

We went back later that afternoon to see Carsen get his awards.

 

Carsen LOVED his teacher this year. It was great to see the strides he made this year in reading and all other areas.

 

The night before the last day of school, I had plans to get up with the boys and take a couple pictures of them before they left for school. That morning, Jason leaned over and tapped me in bed and asked, "Are the boys getting on the bus?" I said, "No, I want to take some pictures of them before they go, I will drive them (like we've done for the last month and a half!)." Jason's response was, "Well, they just went out the garage door with their backpacks on!" So I jumped out of bed at 6:45 and flagged them halfway down the driveway.  I told them to come back because I wanted to take some pictures before they left.  They protested, saying that they wanted to ride the bus.  How could I argue that... it was the last day of school and the more I thought, the more I realized that I could just get pictures AFTER school and it wouldn't matter, so I let them go.

When I got back in the house, I realized that I hadn't checked what they were wearing, if they brushed their teeth or their hair, or if they even had on clean underwear... oh well!!  I think the funniest thing is that they were just going to go out the door and get on the bus without even telling us or waking us up to let us know they were leaving.  How embarrassing would it have been to have to call the school and ask them if my kids were there!  It turns out that the REAL reason they wanted to ride the bus was because they heard that the school was serving cinnamon rolls for breakfast on the last day!

Long story short, we got our picture AFTER school.

One thing I like to do is measure the boys at the beginning of the year and at the end of the year to see how much they've grown.

Carsen grew 2 1/4 inches

We finally bit the bullet and bought a new computer.  We actually got a laptop instead of a desktop, so once we get everything transferred over from the old computer, including all my pictures, I'm sure I will be putting them onto the blog by handfuls!  Until then...

Bring it on!!

I would ordinarily be posting pictures from the last day of school and how much the kids have grown and all the happenings of the last few weeks, however, our desktop is having major issues right now. We have some things that we need to figure out and hopefully I will be up and running again in the near future. Until then, i just have a few thoughts... Baseball has been in full swing for the past 4 months. For most, the regular season is winding down... Final games are being played and parents and families are looking forward to claiming their life back! I have talked with numerous parents, who's kids' seasons are ending who feel such a sense of relief. I started wondering if there was something wrong with me. The last two to three weeks of the regular season we have only had 3 games (they leave gaps in the schedule to allow for make-up games due to games being rained out.) I started feeling like I was having withdrawals. Then I thought, well, maybe I'm just excited because both the boys' teams are in first place in their division and headed to the post-season. Those other parents are just ready to be done because they don't have the post-season to look forward to. Then I was talking to some parents whose kids' teams ARE going on and they are just ready for the season to be over, too. I, on the other hand, can't wait for games to kick in to full swing again. Braeden's team plays tomorrow night for a chance to clinch first place... Then we have another week until we play Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I can't wait... I love being at the ball park, watching my boys. The only explanation I have is that, in my mind, there is nothing more satisfying than watching your children do something they love, and something they have worked hard for! Even though they are only 8 1/2 and 6 1/2, they take baseball pretty seriously! I know I wouldn't enjoy it as much if they weren't enjoying it as much as they are! So bring on the baseball... bring on the ballpark 6 nights a week... bring on the sunflower seeds and 100 degree weather... Here's to hoping we are still playing baseball at the end of July! Go Indians... Go Lookouts!
