Not long after Auntie Colee and Uncle Erik came for a visit, Papa came to Texas for the 2nd time. We had a fun adventure planned, but first, we had to go get him at the airport.
Kammy seeing Papa again after a couple weeks:
The boys were pretty excited, too, when they got home from school and Papa was sitting on the couch!
It didn't take long until they suckered him in to a "friendly" game of Mario Kart.
Papa made his ALWAYS delicious oatmeal cookies and had plenty of helpers to taste and make sure he made them right.
Kammy wouldn't let Papa forget his role of "potty buddy" while she was in WA... she insisted that he keep her company.
It was finally time for a trip to San Antonio... we don't stay in hotels often, so it's always quite amusing to see the kids excitement when we arrive, as if THIS will last long!
Our first day was Sea World
As soon as we walked into the park, Shamu came over for some fun photo ops!
It was pretty cute to see the kids' reactions to Shamu pushing Kamryn in the jogger!
When we went to Sea World 5 years ago, the boys remembered that we had forgotten cash in order to buy food to feed the dolphins... we made sure we had cash this time!
The Shamu Express
What a good Papa!
Always in the Splash Zone!
We, on the other hand, sat a bit higher! (Having my expensive camera was a good excuse!)
The Shamu Show is ALWAYS one of my favorites!
Once again, the boys were in the Splash Zone. We went at a great time of year when there weren't very many other people there.
The trainer took notice that the boys were in the Splash Zone and said something like: "These guys are ready to get wet!"
This next picture was snapped just before Shamu gave them a huge splash!
These next pictures were a treat when we got home. I hadn't originally realized that when taking pictures from where I was seated of Shamu splashing them, that the park had put them on the big screen! I happened to have the big screen in the background, so I cropped and zoomed on the pictures. They are a little blurry, but you get the idea...
We also cracked up over this next picture. Once again, the trainer brought the boys down to "give Shamu commands" to splash the crowd... see if you can see what we found funny??
Apparently they like getting wet by a whale!
Crazy Papa!
Lunch break
After lunch we were surprised when we walked around the corner to the kids' area and all the Sesame Street characters were out. Kammy ran the fastest she had gone all morning, straight into Abby's arms!
...And even got to hold her wand for the picture!
Kamryn's FAVORITE ride!!
No problem... I'll watch the kiddos...
Braeden would NOT be seen getting his picture taken with Sesame Street characters! Big Bird even tried to run him down and get him, but he hid behind me. I was frantically trying to get a picture, but I couldn't because he kept staying behind me!
Papa being a good example and sharing!
All that running back and forth from Abby to Big Bird to Elmo and back really wore her out!
Not enough that we couldn't get ONE MORE TURN on her favorite ride.
Back at the hotel, we went for a little swim...
Then it was time to turn in... the next day, we went to the Alamo... Jason, Me, Kamryn, Papa and his little duckies:
We ate lunch at Jimmy John's
... and got quite a kick out of this sign!
The Riverwalk
It's tough being TWO!
On Sunday, it was Kammy's 2nd Birthday... more pictures to come...
